Science, science fiction, technology, entertainment and business in a big single event at Fiera di Roma, from 1st to 3rd December.

Maker Faire Rome – The European Edition: 4.0 is the biggest Maker Faire outside of USA and the second in the world for the number of visitors: more than 110.000 guests, 600 projects, hundreds of conferences, live talk and workshop and 25.000 students were registered last year.

It’s organised by InnovaCamera, a Special Agency of the Rome Chamber of Commerce, whose mission is to place the city of Rome at the centre of the debate on innovation.

Maker Faire Rome 2017 is created to cater to curious participants of all ages, wishing to experience first-hand the makers’ inventions. Inventions that are the result of a desire to solve everyday problems, whether big or small.

Not just a fair for field experts, but a place where you will find inventions in the field of science and technology (from 3D printers to wearables, through to drones, robots and digital manufacturing), IoT, but also new forms of art, entertainment, crafts and food experiments.

The public can experience and try their hand with these new inventions where innovation is made available to everyone. An experience where participants are an integral part of the fair itself.

MAKER FAIRE: a little bit of history

Maker Faire is the most important show on Earth about innovation, originated in 2006 in the San Francisco Bay Area as a project of the editors of  Make: magazine. It has since grown into a significant worldwide network of both flagship and independently-produced events.

A family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker Movement.  It’s a place where people of all ages and backgrounds gather together to show what they are making, and share what they are learning.

Pavilions

This year Maker Faire Rome 2017 will be organised in 7 Pavilions, each of them will showcase a different leit-motiv: Move, Life/Robots, Interaction, Fabrication, Young makers, Food/Music/Art, Light&Darkness.

Food Area

The Food Area, inside Pavilion 9, will be characterized by attractions and installations, workshops and talks; great attention will be paid to the themes that are revolutionizing the “From Farm to Fork” food world: digital agriculture, food design, mindful eating, smart kitchen, Food Waste and Food Safety. In the exhibition area visitors will be able to experience the different moments of the food chain:

  • Production
  • Transformation
  • Distribution
  • Eating
  • Recycling

Food makers will represent the main innovative trends for the specific theme, showing their creations and explaining to the public the process of creation and some basic notions.

Agricolus will participate at Maker Faire Rome 2017 in the Food Area, Stand B11 of Pavilion 9 “Electronics & Interaction”, to show its innovative solution for agriculture 4.0.
