The DSS for monitoring winter cereals

GrainDSS is Agricolus’ Decision Support System for cereal farms that want to effectively monitor their fields and intervene precisely according to the needs of barley and wheat.

A complete DSS designed to apply the right amount of inputs only where truly needed and estimate the risk of some of the main crop diseases, helping improve both cereal yield and quality.

From € 350/year

Why choose the DSS for winter cereals

In winter cereal management, many decisions are concentrated at key stages of the season: vegetative growth resumption, tillering, stem elongation, heading, and the stages before harvest. During these phases, water availability, nutrition, weather trends, and disease pressure can directly affect production results.

GrainDSS helps monitor the development of barley and wheat with a complete view of the field. Weather data, field surveys, registered crop operations, and forecast models are integrated to provide recommendations on crop protection, fertilization, and the organization of farm activities.

What you can do with the DSS for winter cereals

Increase grain yield and quality
Effective agronomic management helps enhance the production potential of barley and wheat.

Protect cereals from the main crop diseases
Forecast models support risk assessment for Fusarium head blight, Septoria, Yellow rust, and Powdery mildew, helping technicians and farmers schedule checks and interventions at the best time.

Optimize the use of treatments and fertilizers
Inputs can be used carefully and consistently with the actual needs of the crop.

Reduce costs and waste
Precisely planning fertilization, treatments, and field inspections helps reduce waste, unnecessary activities, and operating costs.

Features

Draw the field on the map or import shp and kmz files, then add all the relevant crop information.

Register crop operations and organize activities in the field.

Quickly register and view your crop plan in a clear and concise way to better manage the seasons.

Phenology forecasting to assess the crop’s needs at every growth stage.

Forecasting of Fusarium head blight, Septoria, Yellow rust, and Powdery mildew development to estimate the probability of daily fungal spread and intervene promptly.

Estimation of irrigation requirements to intervene when needed with the optimal water supply.

Calculation of the total nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium requirements (kg/ha) throughout the crop production cycle to provide recommendations on nutrient doses to apply.

Check professional weather forecasts up to seven days, updated every hour: temperature, humidity, wind speed, and precipitation.

Geolocate and register crop scouting with the Agricolus App: phenology, pests and diseases, anomalies, soil analysis, traps and catches.

Write notes and add photos and voice notes: you can associate them with one or more fields or a specific location.

Register your agricultural machinery, any problems and maintenance carried out. You can also connect them to Agricolus by using Agrirouter.

Monitor the economic and environmental sustainability indicators of the farm. You can set target levels for each and track the progress.

Create and assign a production lot to each harvest to improve the traceability of the operations carried out. A QR code is generated, allowing access to a dedicated web page where all product information can be viewed.
